White Slip Kohiki Tea Cup (narrow mouth)

In my ceramic work, I focus on celebrating the beauty of everyday objects, particularly vessels, through the lens of traditional craft techniques. Rather than conveying deep conceptual themes, my aim is to capture the inherent beauty found in the forms, textures, and glazes that make everyday items both functional and visually compelling.
Drawing from classical methods such as slipware, ash glazes, iron glazes, and iron painting, I seek to create pieces that balance tradition with my own perspective. While the techniques I use are rooted in centuries-old practices, I make subtle adjustments that reflect my personal sensibility, allowing these familiar forms to take on new life and meaning.
For me, the process is about honoring the history of ceramic craftsmanship while infusing each piece with my unique touch—celebrating the quiet elegance of functional art.
